Kevin Henry joined Falls Church VFD as an operational member in 2009. Originally from Pennsylvania, Kevin’s emergency service career began in 2000 as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-Basic) with Villanova Emergency Medical Service (VEMS). Kevin is also a former member of Howard County (Maryland) Fire & Rescue as a volunteer firefighter and EMT.
Since moving to northern Virginia and joining the FCVFD, Kevin has obtained certifications in Firefighter I/II, EMT-Basic, Hazardous Materials, Fire & EMS Instructor I & II and Officer I, and additional training in emergency incident strategy and tactics, firefighter self-rescue and Rapid Intervention Company Operations. As Chief, Kevin manages the department’s training program, emergency planning, and directs operational responses involving FCVFD personnel and apparatus. In this role he is also the liaison to City of Falls Church and Arlington County government and emergency service personnel, and other local paid and volunteer departments, always seeking strong partnerships with neighboring agencies.
Kevin holds a Bachelor of Computer Engineering from Villanova and a Masters in Computer Science from the George Washington University. In his career as a project manager with Cray, the Supercomputer Company, Kevin coordinates and manages supercomputer build, installation, and integration projects for government, commercial, and academic customers.
