Description
In order to receive certification from the Commonwealth of Virginia as firefighters, the recruits were required to pass two written exams and five practical exercises in addition to meeting the minimum course attendance requirements. Department of Fire Programs Area Manager Melvin Byrne administered the testing for 7 Falls Church, and 2 Cherrydale volunteer recruits with the assistance of instructors from Falls Church.
