Description
The Arcola Pleasant Valley VFD graciously invited the Falls Church VFD to participate in a burn exercise at 26690 Gum Spring Road in a vacant 1-story stone rambler. Thirteen FCVFD personnel along with members of the Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, Loudoun County Fire & Rescue, and Arcola Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department participated in 13 evolutions before the structure became unsafe to enter. Falls Church personnel performed fire attack, rapid intervention team, search and rescue, and backup hoseline duties. Additionally, Falls Church instructors functioned as the incident commander and ignition team. Lunch and rehabilitation facilities were provided and staffed by the Arcola Pleasant Valley VFD for the duration of the event.
