Description
Lieutenant Blake and FF/EMT Bonds organized a training event to coincide with National Firefighter Health Week. Personnel were placed into teams of 2 and required to complete a series of skills stations while being timed and monitored for air consumption. All participants were also checked for a baseline set of vital signs prior to engaging in the event. These vital signs were then complimented by sets of vital signs taken immediately following completion of the skills stations and again after 5 minutes of rest. The skills stations were: 1) standing hookup of 200' of 2.5" hose 2) donning PPE and SCBA 3) positioning and utilizing a charged 200' 1.75" attack line to knock down four targets 4) raising a 24' extension ladder and completing a Vent-Enter-Search operation 5) carrying the highrise packs from the ground to the roof of the smokehouse and back 6) dragging a 170lb mannequin approximately 100' All teams completed the skills stations with times between 11 and 18 minutes. No mannequins were injured in the making of these photos.
