Description
At approximately 6:30am, a vehicle accident with entrapment was dispatched for 308 South Washington Street in the City of Falls Church. Engine 106, Truck 106, Medic 106, Rescue 418, EMS 112, and Battalion 111 were the units assigned to the call. Engine 106 arrived to find an 11-passenger commuter van into the side of a brick commercial building. The van had apparently been struck in the nearby intersection and continued through a chain-link fence and into the building. The driver was trapped in the front seat and was the lone occupant. Extrication was achieved by removing the interior bench seats and passing the patient back through the rear hatch of the van. The patient was transported to INOVA Fairfax Hospital for treatment.
