Rob currently serves as EMS Captain of the Department. He joined the department in 2003 after several years of volunteering with the Arlington Red Cross.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, volunteering has always been an important aspect of Rob’s life. His emergency services experience began in 1994 when he worked as a dispatcher, ambulance attendant and driver for an ambulance squad in Philadelphia.
Rob moved to the Northern Virginia area after college and began volunteering in multiple roles at the Arlington Red Cross, such as Disaster Services instructor and responder, Youth Mentor and CPR Instructor. His largest role with Disaster Services was on September 11th, 2001 where Rob worked as a liason between the Arlington Red Cross and the Arlington County Government.
In his short time as a member of the Fire Department, Rob has received certifications as a Fire Service Instructor, Safety Officer, Hazardous Materials Response, and Vehicle Extrication. Rob also serves as the department Training Officer, responsible for the coordination of all Fire and EMS training.
When not found at the fire house Rob works full time at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He lives in the Vienna area of Fairfax County with his wife Jen.
