This B-shift fire occurred around 11pm in a residential neighborhood on the Arlington County and Fairfax County border in McLean. Fairfax County Engine 401 arrived on the scene to find heavy fire showing from the residence. Engine 106 arrived almost simultaneously and assumed a first due position. The fire was darkened down by Engine 401 using a 2.5" attack line from the exterior and then Engine 106 moved in with a 1.75" line to complete extinguishment.
