FF-I/II Exam

In order to receive certification from the Commonwealth of Virginia as structural firefighters, recruits completed both written and practical exams. The exams were supervised by Virginia Department of Fire Programs Division Chief Melvin Byrne and administered by senior FCVFD instructors. The practical examination consisted of five skills stations chosen by Division Chief Byrne; SCBA emergencies, forcible entry, working from a ladder, tying a tool for hoisting, and hose loads. |
