Operation Santa Claus 2008

Each year the volunteers decorate a reserve engine and drive Santa Claus around the Greater Falls Church area to visit residents. Between 6:30pm and 9:30pm each evening from December 15 through December 23 Santa visits each street in the City of Falls Church and, as time permits, neighborhoods on the fringes of the City. During the trips, FCVFD members hand out candy canes and fire safety literature to citizens. Dog biscuits are also available for our four-legged friends who frequently come out to visit with Santa.
Many thanks to Firefighter Deven Hessler for his hard work coordinating this year's event. A special thanks to Firefighter Charles Frey for his addition of the SantaTracker to our website this year. Over 4,400 candycanes, 150 dog biscuits, and 1,500 fire safety flyers were distributed this year. |
