Arlington County Volunteer Appreciation Reception

Lieutenant McCandless was selected as one of Arlington County's Outstanding Volunteers for 2008. The ceremony was held at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association building in Ballston. In addition to Lieutenant McCandless, several volunteers from the Department of Human Services, Police Auxiliary, Sheriff's Office, and Department of Parks and Recreation were recognized. County Board members presented the awards with approximately 200 people on hand. Several FCVFD members contributing over 250 hours of volunteer service to Arlington County also received certificates recognizing their participation. |
