Firefighter I/II 2010 - Mayday Awareness
Assistant Chief Evinger, Captain Sisler, Lieutenant Blake, Firefighter Schloss, and Firefighter Melnick led the recruits through a series of exercises to prepare them to call help for themselves in the event of injury, entrapment, or disorientation. Recruits learned a pattern to follow when transmitting a Mayday, learned to manipulate a radio while in full PPE, practiced calling for help while entangled or entrapped, and also learned to follow a hoseline to safety in zero visibility.
