ACFD Captain Bennett and members of the ACFD Hazardous Materials Response Team instructed 14 recruits in research methods and defensive containment tactics for hazardous chemical releases. Classroom instruction was followed by two days of practical activities performing diking, damming, diverting, and decontamination techniques.
Battalion Chief Shultz of the Arcola-Pleasant Valley VFD served as the Virginia Department of Fire Programs representative during the exam. |
