Firefighter 1 - Mayday Awareness

Recruits received classroom and practical training to prepare for the worst case scenario. They learned when to request emergency assistance, how to request emergency assistance, and some basic techniques to assist in their own rescue. Most of the activities were performed while the recruits' vision was completely obscured by wax paper inserted in their facepieces.
Specifically, recruits completed three skills stations:
Buddy Breathing and Following a Hoseline to Safety
Individual Entrapment
Lost Team Member or Discovery of a Downed Firefighter |
