Basic Vehicle Extrication

The career members of the C-platoon at Station 6 conducted a basic vehicle extrication for volunteer recruits who had recently completed their Truck Company indoctrination. Captain Polera and Firefighter Ivan led the recruits through a variety of assignments to familiarize them with the rescue equipment carried on Truck 106. A total of eight volunteers completed the class, six from the FCVFD, 1 from the Cherrydale VFD, and one from the Arlington VFD.
An added challenge for the recruits was the extremely hot weather. Temperatures approached 100 degrees as they dismantled the Jeep Cherokee donated by FCVFD member Charles Harvey. |
