Recruit Training - Engine Company Operations

Recruits from Arlington, Clarendon, and Falls Church VFD participated in a weekend of indoctrination training. The training included evolutions donning PPE and SCBA rapidly, deploying hoselines, repacking hoselines, establishing water supply, hose stream management, and hoseline advancement. The weekend culminated in response simulations that required Recruits to utilize all of the individual skills they had learned to this point in their training.
One instructor from Ballston and six instructors from Falls Church VFD led the drills using the Falls Church VFD reserve engine. A total of seven recruits participated in the training. |
