9/11 Observance Ceremony

On the 1st anniversary of the attacks on the Pentagon and World Trade Center, the American Legion and Catholic War Veterans sponsored a commemoration ceremony to honor the victims and those who served on September 11, 2001, and the days that followed. Representatives from the Falls Church VFD, the City of Falls Church Police, and the Falls Church Sheriff's Office participated by raising a service flag and sharing some remarks. Chief Evinger expressed the Department's gratitude to the community for the extraordinary support given to the volunteer and career firefighters during the past year. He also reminded people never to forget the heroes of the New York City Fire Department who gave their lives in the service of others on September 11, 2001. |
