Company Drill - Sports Injuries
Nationally Registered Paramedic Doreen Love, a member of the McLean VFD, was recruited to teach members about providing care to victims of sports injuries. The evening included a presentation on the types of typical sports injuries, signs and symptoms of injuries, and proper care for fractures and dislocations. Lecture was followed by practical exercises that required members to immobilize "patients" wearing football equipment.
