Members of the ACFD B-shift along with volunteer Assistant Chief Clarke and volunteer Firefighter Sisler responded with Engine 106, Truck 106, and Rescue 104 for a truck fire at the duckpin bowling alley parking lot in Falls Church. Upon arrival, Engine 106 found the tractor of a tractor-trailer fully involved with a tanker truck exposed. The assignment was upgraded to include 3 additional engines and a foam unit from Reagan National Airport. The bowling alley was evacuated and lines positioned to protect the exposed tanker truck. The fire in the vehicle of origin was extinguished within 20 minutes using handlines and a master stream from Engine 106. |
