Firefighter I/II - Hazardous Materials Operations

ACFD Career Firefighter Bill Bennett instructed the recruits on the defensive containment tactics used during hazardous materials emergencies. The weekend class session focussed on damming, diking, and diverting hazardous substances to limit their spread. Also assisting in the day's evolutions were Firefighter Fortner, Firefighter Melnick, Firefighter Harvey, and Firefighter Sisler.
On the second day of the weekend, Department of Fire Programs Area 2 Manager Bert Roby administered the state written and practical exams. Students completed a multiple-choice test and then demonstrated their skills under the supervision of instructors. |
